Techno Mage Eccentric on the outside, deeply profound on the inside, (EMPTY) is a true masterpiece of a chip album. Every song has its own unique character and energy, but each bears the same cohesive strength that is typical of toasterpastries. For top notch songwriting and sound design in a Gameboy album, look no further. Favorite track: PWRMEOW.

Art by toasterpastries, using a Game Boy Camera and GiMP

I'm not very good at concept, so this album wasn't made with one in mind.
If this album is about anything, it's about writing music on an obsolete toy from 20 years ago.
It's about learning a whole new means of expression and the growth and creativity that comes with it.
It's about spending every single bus ride and lunch break working on new material and seeing songs materialize over the course of months.
It's about trying to make something that I enjoy performing live.
It's called (EMPTY) because that's what every single song starts as in LSDJ before it gets a name.
The blank page, but for a dot matrix screen with stereo sound
